Jas Chambers
Jas works at the intersection of nature, science, business and policy, convening conversations across sectors and expertise. She has worked in the Australian higher education and government sectors in senior leadership roles, shaping strategy, policy and communications. Her work in international science diplomacy, including with United Nations Specialized Agencies such as the World Meteorological Organization, and the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, representing Australia led to the co-founding of Ocean Decade Australia (ODA) in 2021.
ODA is a national not-for-profit organisation serving Australian ocean stakeholders, rights and interest holders through knowledge sharing, leadership, networking and collaborative action and advocacy. Galvanised by the United Nations declared Ocean Decade 2021 - 2030 and the High-Level Ocean Panel, ODA’s ambitious program demonstrates the ubiquitous, cross-sectoral and whole of government nature of Ocean, where all play a part in stewardship. Jas is Director and Principal of Provenance Consulting, and serves as Science & Technology Australia Vice-President and Chair of the Sydney Institute for Marine Science Foundation.
