Rebecca Konijnenberg

Becky is a current PhD student at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) at the University of Tasmania (UTAS). Her current work focuses on sampling designs to better understand demersal fish populations on the Kerguelen Plateau (Southern Ocean) under climate change. Her supervisors are Dr. Joel Williams, Dr. Nicole Hill, Dr. Scott Foster, and Dr. Cara Masere. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a data scientist for the Weddell Sea MPA Phase 1 Project at the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) in Germany. Becky also carries out interdisciplinary research around the topics of climate change, policy, and marine ecology. She is particularly passionate about ECRs, and serves on the Board of APECS Germany and as the APECS ECR rep on the SOOS Weddell Sea and Dronning Maud Land (WSDML) Regional Working Group.
