Jessie R Kenneally-Clark 2024 Australian Marine Sciences Association Annual Meeting combined with NZMSS

Jessie R Kenneally-Clark

I hold a BSc degree of Science from James Cook University, where I majored in Marine Biology. My studies gave me the opportunity to delve into the complexities of marine ecosystems and reflect on people’s cultural connections to the oceans. Growing up, I was captivated by the vastness of marine ecosystems, and I have chosen to dedicate my career to fostering sustainable relationships with them so that they may be preserved for generations to come. I am at the beginning of my career, and my interests are centered around Blue Carbon’s role in mitigating the impacts of climate change and navigating effective conservation and restoration management strategies in combination with small scale aquaculture. I'm interested in exploring how practices and policies can be quickly adapted to meet the needs of a rapidly changing environment. As the global demand for seafood continues to grow, I believe that it's essential to prioritize sustainable harvesting and aquaculture practices that prioritize the health of both people and the environment.
