Jorden Aulich 2024 Australian Marine Sciences Association Annual Meeting combined with NZMSS

Jorden Aulich

Jorden completed her BSc and BSc (Hons - Genetics) at the University of Tasmania in Hobart. She joined CSIRO in 2017 and currently works in the Hobart Marine Laboratories as a Geneticist. Her work contributes to Australian and International fisheries management as well as population estimates. Primarily her work is with Tuna species, but projects can include shark species and other pelagic fish. As these projects are predominately high throughput, Jorden specialises in genetic extractions using robotic platforms. Her skill set includes an array of genetic techniques from extraction to end point data analysis for species identification, provenance, population structure and size. Her proficiency in the lab has played a key role in the success of large scale projects such SBT gene-tagging and ABT/SBT Close-kin Mark recapture.
