With my background in Computer Science, I was introduced to the practical and implementable applications of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) under the expert supervision of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). I pursued my PhD research on rapid flood inundation mapping and modelling approaches across large-scale data-scarce regions, working with Dr Basudev Biswal (IIT Bombay), Dr Christoph Rudiger (Monash University), and Dr Wendy Sharples (Bureau of Meteorology). At CSIRO, as part of my CERC postdoc fellowship, I would be working on Land-to-Ocean outflow forecasting for coastal water quality assessments using remote sensing.
