Makrita T Solitei
Makrita Solitei is an Early Career Researcher at the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) who researches ways in which the circular economy can complement Blue Economy frameworks. In particular, Makrita's research focuses on how Traditional, Local and Indigenous ways of knowing from grassroots, marginalised and informal communities in Kenya and Australia inform the UN SDGs and discourses in marine and ocean sustainability, particularly waste management. Makrita is also working on an Illawarra Blue future project that explores circular economy avenues of offshore wind renewables.
