Emily J Douglas

Marine ecologist specialising in nutrient cycling and anthropogenic impacts in benthic ecosystems. Recent research has focussed on analysing the effects of and resilience to heat stress, and nutrient and sedimentation stressors in coastal ecosystems, with emphasis on the role of healthy ecosystems for mitigating anthropogenic pressures. Other research involvements include investigating greenhouse gas fluxes, temperature profiles and heat stress impacts in estuary intertidal ecosystems, mapping ecosystem services, invasive species impacts on native biodiversity, subtidal biogenic habitat descriptions, turbidity effects on ecosystem functioning, and shellfish restoration.
