Jessica JN Nguyen
Jessica Nguyen (Jess) is a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in the FAMER Lan (Fisheries and Marine Environmental Research). She is exploring how urbanisation shapes early life stages of fishes in estuarine and coastal ecosystems. Her work focuses on larval fish settlement and connectivity within an estuarine seascape. By combining field based sampling and lab work she aims to better understand how habitat modification influences recruitment, biodiversity, and fisheries. Jess' project is part of a larger ARC linkage grant "Assessing fish connectivity across highly-modified seascapes." lead by Will Figueira. Jess is supervised by Prof Iain Suthers (UNSW), Adj/Prof Matthew Taylor (UNSW/DPIRD), Dr Nathan Knott (DPIRD) and Daniel Hewitt (USYD/UNSW).
