IMOS-OceanCurrent (https://oceancurrent.aodn.org.au/) provides a data visualisation and explanatory service to members of the scientific community and the public who are interested in current and past conditions of the ocean around Australia. We’re also an Australian centre of expertise in satellite altimetry and ocean currents for ocean applications, especially in near-real-time - hence the pun in the name. There are over 15 different freely available data products on the website, including daily maps of surface geostrophic velocity, sea surface temperature, and ocean colour, and figures showing in-situ data from moorings, animal-borne CTDs, and Argo floats. The products available on the website are built using observations collected with support from the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) and data from national and international collaborators. We know that navigating an ocean of information can leave you adrift sometimes. We’ll be available at the 2024 AMSA to learn about your research and to discuss ways in which the maps and figures available on the website can be used to support your work.
