CSIRO, Monash University and UWA in partnership with Parks Australia is delivering a project to restore island ecosystems at Ashmore Reef Marine Park. The project aims to ensure the stability and resilience of the island ecosystems through sustaining natural values (e.g., seabirds, migratory shorebirds, turtles and native plants); mitigating existing threats to ecosystem resilience (e.g. non-native species); accounting for emerging threats (e.g. climate change, biosecurity etc); increasing the capability of Parks managers and government officials in managing non-native species and restoration activities; and informing biosecurity preparedness.
